Adaptation and intuitive training
Today I had no plan for my fitness. I simply decided to start and followed my instincts.
Training has shifted to accommodate life changes. This is an ongoing intuitive process that has provided new developments and insights.
To expand a bit on what I did for my workout, I will give you a glimpse into my train of thought.
Most of my workouts are full-body training. I choose a few movements that work the entire body and I cycle through them. The sets, reps, order of exercises and other factors are subject to change.
Often, I will add a supplemental exercise or two that target smaller body parts that need more attention. These choices may be due to personal preference, injuries, soreness, imbalances or other reasons.
During each workout I adjust in the moment. This is a key component of the intuitive process I mentioned earlier. Even if I decided to do an exercise, I may change it during the training session. There are many options available. Grip, foot position, range of motion, eccentric, speed, isometrics, etc..
